How our matching works

Every suggestion blends two questions: can this person do the work, and do the practical details actually line up? An AI judges the first; plain arithmetic judges the second. A person at the business always makes the final call.

This page explains how that works, in plain English. If you want more detail, or would rather ask a person directly, the last section on this page says how.

What goes into a suggestion

Two separate readings, kept deliberately apart, because each is best at a different kind of judgement.

  • What the AI reads

When you join with a CV, an AI reads your career history (the roles you have held, what you achieved, the skills you used) against a role’s requirements, and writes down what stood out and what did not. It is never told your name, and personal details such as your date of birth, nationality or contact information are removed before anything is sent to it.

  • What the practical-fit check reads

Separately, plain arithmetic checks whether the logistics actually work: hours, rate against the role’s budget, location, way of working, timing and visa status. No AI and no guessing: every factor comes with a plain-English reason.

  • How the two combine

The final order blends both readings, weighted toward capability by default. Keeping both halves visible means a strong skills fit in the wrong location is never mistaken for an available person who lacks the right skills.

Suggestions, not decisions

What comes out of the matching engine is always a suggested, ordered shortlist together with the written reasons behind it. It is a starting point for a conversation, never an instruction.

A person at the business reviews every suggestion and decides who to contact. FlexPerts introduces professionals to businesses; it does not place anyone, and matching two sides is never itself a hiring decision.

The platform does not reject anyone by itself, either. If a business marks a screening answer as a dealbreaker, an applicant who gives that answer is flagged for a person to look at, not removed from the list. Moving an application forward, or turning it down, is always something a person at the business does.

What you control

Three controls sit with you, not with us.

  • Your profile stays masked

A business sees your skills, headline, rate band, location and the reasons you were suggested. They never see your name, contact details, previous employers or your CV until they choose to unlock your full profile.

  • You can object to automated matching

Turn it off and our AI stops evaluating you: existing assessments are deleted, you stop being suggested to businesses, and anyone considering you sees only the practical facts you declared. You stay a full member throughout. Set this in your Privacy Centre.

  • You can correct what we read

Before anything from your CV reaches an AI, you see exactly what will be sent and can add back anything that was missed. What you tell us always overrides what was inferred, at sign-up and afterwards.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t rank people publicly. There is no public leaderboard and no public score anywhere on FlexPerts.
  • We don’t show you your own score. A business sees the suggested order and the written reasons for its own roles; that view is never shared further and never made public.
  • We don’t tell a business who to hire. FlexPerts suggests and explains; the decision, and the responsibility for it, stays with them.
  • We don’t score you on protected characteristics. Nationality, gender, marital status, religion and date of birth are removed before an AI reads your CV, and a career break is treated as a neutral fact, never counted against you.
